Les Baux-de-Provence

Les Baux doesn't welcome you so much as dare you to climb it. Perched on a jagged ridge of the Alpilles, this medieval village feels like it grew out of the rock itself, because much of it did. Ruined ramparts, ancient stone houses, and sweeping views over the valley make it feel less like a day trip and more like stepping into another century.
